    • This review is STRICTLY for the Seanan McGuire story, Spores. And what an utterly horrifying story it is! It reminds me of the one part of Creepshow that actually scared me as a child, "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill", starring Steven King, but this is like that story turned up to eleven, tapping into deep, lifelong, atavistic fears. My skin is still crawling.


    • If only there could be more content per issue. Of the four stories here (two new, two reprints), one from each category impressed me a lot, while the other two didn't strike me greatly one way or the other. "Spores" by Seanan McGuire is reprinted from editor John Joseph Adams' recent apocalypse anthology "The End is Nigh". Awhile back I read an advanced reading copy of McGuire's newest novel under her Mira Grant pseudonym, "Parasite", and while it is getting lots of good reviews, I found it disa [...]
