    • histoire d'un huis clos maritime qui permet de sonder les passagers et fait apparaître leur vrai nature! un peu difficile au début de rentrer dans l'histoire mais en s'accrochant on se prend au jeu!


    • Jules Verne tient le lecteur en haleine tout au long de ce roman qui sort un peu de ses habitudes. Il y montre la bête qui dort au coeur de tout homme et qui n'attend que le moment propice pour se réveiller. Le héros, certes, ne succombe pas à l'horreur mais n'était pas loin de le faire lui aussi. Il s'en est fallu de peu.


    • Ce roman qui tourne de façon graduelle à la tragédie n'est pas bien connu du grand public, tant il s'écarte de l'objectif de Jules Verne qui est de nous servir des aventures pour le moins extraordinaires et fantastiques. Tout au long de l'ouvrage, le suspense est grandissant pour atteindre l'horreur lors des scènes de cannibalisme auquelles les survivants du radeau doivent se livrer.
